Clinical Studies

on Vitreous Health and Floaters

The FLIES Study (Floater Intervention Study)

A randomized controlled trial in Ireland that evaluated a carotenoid-based dietary supplement in patients with symptomatic vitreous floaters. Participants experienced significant improvements in contrast sensitivity and subjective floater symptoms compared to placebo.

Pineapple Study (Bromelain & Floaters)

An observational study in Taiwan found that consuming fresh pineapple daily for three months was associated with a reduction in the perception of floaters. The authors hypothesized that bromelain, an enzyme in pineapple, might help degrade vitreous opacities.

Micronutrient Blend & Vitreous Clarity Study

A European randomized clinical trial investigated a micronutrient blend (marketed as VitroCap®N) designed to support vitreous health. Results showed measurable reductions in vitreous opacity areas and improvements in contrast sensitivity.
